Ta Ann Kapit FMU has been selected by the Sarawak Forestry Corporation and the Malaysian Timber Certification Council as Field Training site for MTSC Auditor’s Training in Forest Management Certification. The training was conducted on 29 Oct till 2 Nov 2018 involving approximate 50 participants from Sarawak Forestry Corporation staffs, Sarawak Timber Association, Solid Hartabina, Jaya Tiasa, Subur Tiasa and WTK. The trainer for this program was Mr. Melvin Ku Kin Kin from MTCC and Dr. Samsudin Musa from FRIM.
The objective of this training are to familiarize potential auditors/internal auditors on requirement of Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (MTCS) and to provide tools and knowledge required to conduct an audit of Forest Management practices based on Malaysian Criteria and Indicator for Forest Management Certification (Natural Forest).
